Michelle was a longtime columnist for the Blue Island Forum newspaper until 2020 when the pandemic stifled many businesses. Her articles were educational and informative and often promoted advocacy for animals and senior citizens. Other topics included addiction, Blue Island City Council, business spotlights, depression and suicide, police matters, politics, racial issues, tributes, and human interest.

Previous occupations include veterinary assistant, hairdresser, pharmacy technician, caregiver, construction clerk, and copy editor for the Southwest Messenger Press. Michelle is a freelance writer that continues to write human-interest and educational articles.
