  1. Personally, I’ve always consolidated trips to save on gas. I also shop closer to home, which includes Chicago. Even if I have to pay a little more in taxes there, I think it balances out. I recently heard on SRN News that President Biden once stated something like “It all comes down to the administration in charge” when there was criticism against Donald Trump when he was president. Sooo, why wouldn’t the same principle apply to Biden?

  2. I have no choice but to pay because I have to do what I have to do. I spent over $100 this week to fill my gas tank plus a 2-gallon container for my power washer. I blame the Biden administration because immediately after taking office, they stopped the keystone pipeline. He tries to blame it on Russia. Gas prices were going up before Russia invaded Ukraine making it hard on oil companies to produce here. The Democrats are all for pushing green energy and I don’t fault them for that, however, green energy needs to be done in steps. They are all for everyone buying electric cars but most Americans cannot afford them right now.

    1. I have an electric power washer but recently had to shop for a new car (that’s another story). There is not much of a choice out there for new gas-powered cars as dealers are selling electric cars. The whole industry is changing. Gas-powered pickup trucks and SUVs are still available at dealerships but many buyers just want a small gas-powered car.

  3. Does Biden pay for his own gasoline? No.
Does Biden pay for his food? No.
Does Biden pay to heat his home? No.
So he makes the decisions to increase energy prices, which affect everything else but he has no idea how it affects the average American family.
He has not prepared the American people to change over to electric cars. Charging these cars is expensive at several levels. And where does a person charge an electric car if they are traveling?
His administration is all about forcing change on people. The new bad word is “Mandate.” People are mandated to wear a mask. Mandated to get unproven and potentially toxic vaccine shots, and mandated to go green.
What ever happened to the people deciding to live by the laws of this great country? The people should decide.
Gas prices do not have to be so painfully high. Fossil fuel can be cleanly produced right here in the USA. And at the same time, there can be a plan to change over to an electric car if the people want to do that.
Forcing change and mandating policy is not the American way of life.

    1. Interesting points. It definitely comes across that this administration has a certain agenda to promote. Some shopping centers have incentives like “Hybrid Parking” signs closer to the door, etc. Okay, that’s a benefit but it seems like most people are being socked with punitive damages at the gas station. There is more to the electric car plan than people realize.

  4. I’m retired and go shopping and run errands every two weeks. I fill my gas tank every six months.

    1. Good for you! Last year I only visited a gas station twice. My mechanic was very surprised and said the gas will get old. I’m not supposed to fill it all the way if I’m not going to use it.
